> About Us

The Advanced Manufacturing Career Collaborative (AMC2) was
established because of a shared sense of urgency concerning Southwestern
PA's ability to provide a technically trained workforce in the numbers
needed by the region's manufacturing sector.
"The central message of the collaborative is that there are defined manufacturing career pathways that can lead to rewarding careers."

Logo The
AMC2 logo was designed by
Phillip Lang, a senior at the Lenape Area Vocational Technical
School and the winner of the AMC2 logo
competition.

Students
from Career ad Technology Centers were asked to design a logo that would
convey the concept of modern, high tech, advanced manufacturing. Thanks to Phillip for a great
job!
The goals of the collaborative are:
- Help the region develop a technically competent
manufacturing workforce
- Develop a connected network of advanced
manufacturing education and training opportunities
- Develop seamless education pathways that avoid
duplication, save time and money, and allow students and incumbent
employees to advance from one educational level to the next and to work
- Develop a strategy to raise awareness,
particularly in economically distressed areas, of manufacturing
opportunities and the education and skills needed to help meet the
workforce development needs of a nine county region in southwestern PA.
- Publicize the existing manufacturing career pathways that can lead to rewarding careers for students and incumbent employees.
