Integrated Technical Education

Some high schools integrate their technology education courses into their regular academic program. The courses are located at the high school and may be selected as electives by the students. The students remain at the high school and do not have to relocate to another facility for their technical classes.

Since technology and computer skills have become a key component of many jobs, most middle and high schools provide computer training to students. To help graduates meet the challenge of today's technically advanced workplace, high schools now provide additional opportunities for technical education that supplements the traditional academic curriculum.

These programs provide students with the opportunity to get some work-related technical training while in high school that can prepare them for the world of work. The type of technical training available varies from school to school depending on the school's facilities.
